This short and easy trek takes you through forests filled with rhododendrons, and beautiful villages like Ghorepani, finally to Poonhill. Poonhill is a viewpoint situated at an altitude of 3,210 m (10532 ft), only 30 to 50 minutes away from Ghorepani depending on your pace.

Trip Itinerary
A representative of enlightenment treks will come to pick you up at the airport. After some rest, we will offer a trip briefing about your 5 day Ghore Pani Trek and answer each of your questions at our office. We will also give you quick do’s and don’ts during the trip.
After the trip briefing prepare yourself and your equipment for your trek tomorrow.
The first day of the trek starts with a scenic ride from Pokhara to Nayapul. The snow-capped mountains like Machhapuchre, and Annapurna accompanies you throughout the journey to Nayapul. You will also witness the ever-white Seti River and its hydropower. The drive from Pokhara to Nayapul takes 1 hour or 1 hour 30 min at max on a Jeep.
We check in our ACAP permits at the NayaPul checkpost and start our trek to Ulleri. The trek from here to Ulleri takes 5 to 6 hours covering a distance of 13 kilometers. You will cross a suspension bridge, and stairs made up of stones, and pass through villages like Hile, and Thikedunga. Overnight stay at Ulleri.
Note: Alternatively, you can drive up to Ulleri.
After breakfast at Ulleri we start our trek to Ghorepani. The trek starts with an ascent filled with stoned stairs. We will walk along small waterfalls and rivers, and through the Jungle with the chirping sound of birds. This section of the trek offers a peaceful moment with the presence of greenery all around.
After covering a distance of 12 kilometers in 6 hours, we will finally reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a beautiful village, recognized for its welcoming local community and traditional Gurung culture. Ghorepani is situated at an altitude of 2,874 m and is close to PoonHill, so chilly winds blow here during morning and evening. Overnight stay at Ghorepani.
Today we summit the Poon Hill. Depending on the season we trek to PoonHill very early, to ensure that we don’t miss the sunrise. Poon Hill is a viewpoint situated at an altitude of 3,210 m, from where we can enjoy the mesmerizing sunrise on top of mountains. The trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill takes 50 - 60 minutes at max.
The moment of the first golden rays of sunlight touching the mountain tops is sure to be in your memory forever. We will enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the mountains like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Macchapuchre, and Nilgiri, we will snap some pictures and trek back to Ghorepani.
From Ghorepani, we trek towards Tadapani, which takes about 6 - 7 hours of trekking, to cover 14 kilometers. This section of the trek takes you along the rhododendron forests and it is filled with very old rhododendron trees. We reach Deurali, and from here, it takes about 3 hours of trek to Tadapani. We can have our lunch at Bantathi and trek towards Tadapani. Tadapani is another small but beautiful village situated at an altitude of 2,630 m. Overnight stay at Tadapani.
After breakfast, we leave for Ghandruk leisurely. The trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk is the easiest and quickest day of the 5 day Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. While the majority of the four-day trek involved ascending, today's path leads downhill. Passing through dense forests, we reach a flat and downward trail, to reach Bhaisi Kharka. From here we trek downward until we reach the charming Ghandruk Village, covering 6.5 kilometers trekking 3 to 4 hours.
Ghandruk offers a delightful blend of natural splendor and cultural immersion, which invites trekkers to immerse themselves in the local Gurung heritage and explore the surrounding tea gardens. From Ghandruk, one can relish breathtaking vistas of the Annapurna Himalayas and witness the serene flow of the Seti River passing from Hemja.
Overnight stay at Ghandruk Village.
We explore the beautiful village of Ghandruk completely and enjoy the sunrise from here as well. After exploration of Ghandruk village to your heart’s content, we drive back to Pokhara. The drive from Ghandruk to Pokhara takes 1 hour and 30 min or 2 hours at max. Our 5 days Ghorepani PoonHill trek ends here.
